Best Bluetooth Speakers Under $100 in 2026: Waterproof Picks Owners Keep Recommending

Five portable Bluetooth speakers under $100 ranked by sound, battery and owner reviews: JBL Flip 5, Anker Soundcore 2, JBL Go 4, Soundcore Boom 2 and the tiny Soundcore Select 4 Go.

Our top pickJBL FLIP 5, Waterproof Portable Bluetoot…9.6Our score

You do not need to spend big to get a speaker that sounds good at the pool, survives a splash and lasts a day on one charge. The under-$100 shelf on Amazon is crowded, though, and a lot of it is unbranded stock with borrowed photos. We went through the portable speakers in our catalog and kept five that were under $100 at the time of writing and that thousands of owners still rate a strong owner rating or better.

We have not tested every one of these ourselves, so we lean on owner reviews and the makers’ published specs. Prices are not printed because they change daily; every button opens the live Amazon page.

How we picked

  • Under $100 at the time of writing. Some of these are a lot less; we did not pad the list with speakers that only fit the bracket on a sale day.
  • Waterproof, not water resistant. Every pick is IPX7 or better, so a dunk in the pool or a rainstorm is fine.
  • A full day of battery. The worst battery here is 7 hours; three picks reach 20 hours or more.
  • Owner ratings of a strong owner rating or better from a meaningful number of owner reviews, with no pattern of pairing failures or dead batteries in the long-term comments.
  • Real brands. JBL and Anker’s Soundcore both back these with US support and a warranty, which matters when a battery dies in month 11.

The picks

JBL FLIP 5 Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker
OutputStereo, single driver plus dual passive radiatorsBattery12 hoursWaterproofIPX7Range33 ft BluetoothExtrasPartyBoost multi-speaker pairing

The Flip 5 has been JBL’s best seller for years because it sounds much bigger than a water bottle should. The racetrack driver and two passive radiators give it real bass, and it stays clean at high volume, which cheaper speakers do not. Owners give it an excellent owner rating across tens of thousands of owner reviews; most complaints are about the 12-hour battery, fine for a beach day and short for a camping weekend. It is IPX7 waterproof and pairs with other PartyBoost JBL speakers. Newer Flips have replaced it twice, which is exactly why it now fits this bracket.

Pros
  • Loud, full sound for a speaker this size
  • IPX7: survives being dropped in a pool
  • Links to other PartyBoost JBL speakers
  • tens of thousands of owner reviews, with the highest owner rating on this page
Cons
  • 12-hour battery is the shortest of the full-size picks here
  • No 3.5 mm input and no speakerphone
  • A newer Flip 6 and Flip 7 exist, so this is last-generation hardware

Anker Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Stereo Sound, IPX7
Output12 W, dual neodymium driversBattery24 hours (5,200 mAh)WaterproofIPX7Range66 ft BluetoothExtrasBassUp, stereo pairing with a second unit

The Soundcore 2 is the speaker for anyone who says “I just want something for the shower and the kitchen.” It is small, IPX7 waterproof, and the 5,200 mAh battery runs about 24 hours at normal volume. Two 6 W drivers and Anker’s BassUp processing get more bass out of it than you expect, though it will not carry a backyard party. The tens of thousands of owner reviews tell the story: not the best speaker here, but the one the most people are happy with for the money. Check the listing for the charging port; older stock uses micro-USB.

Pros
  • 24-hour battery, twice the Flip 5
  • IPX7 waterproof for around a third of the price of the JBL
  • BassUp mode gives it more low end than its size suggests
  • tens of thousands of owner reviews, with a strong owner rating
Cons
  • 12 W is not loud enough for a big outdoor group
  • Micro-USB charging on many units, not USB-C
  • Sound is fine, not exciting; the JBL is clearly better

JBL Go 4 Ultra-Portable Waterproof and Dustproof Bluetooth Speaker
OutputMono, JBL Pro SoundBattery7 hours + 2 with Playtime BoostWaterproofIP67, waterproof and dustproofPairingAuracast, stereo with a second Go 4SizeFits a jacket pocket

The Go 4 is the speaker you throw in a jacket pocket and forget about until you need it. It is mono and will not fill a room, but for a desk, a tent or a hotel bathroom it sounds surprisingly grown up. The IP67 rating means beach sand is not a problem, and Auracast links two Go 4s into a stereo pair. The battery is the trade-off: JBL says 7 hours, plus 2 more in Playtime Boost mode, which cuts the bass to stretch the charge. Owners give it an excellent owner rating.

Pros
  • Palm-sized and light enough to clip to a bag
  • IP67 rating covers dust and sand, not only water
  • Punchier bass than any other speaker this small
  • tens of thousands of owner reviews, with an excellent owner rating
Cons
  • 7-hour battery is the shortest here
  • Mono, so pair two for stereo
  • Cannot compete with the Flip 5 on volume

Soundcore Boom 2 by Anker, 80W Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker
Output80 W peak, stereo with subwooferBattery24 hoursWaterproofIPX7, floatsRangeUp to 100 m BluetoothExtrasPowers your phone, light show, BassUp 2.0

If the goal is a backyard barbecue or a boat, the Boom 2 is the only pick here that is genuinely loud. It is rated at 80 W peak with a dedicated subwoofer, and owners say it gets loud without turning muddy. It is IPX7, it floats, it runs 24 hours and it can charge your phone. It weighs more than the rest of the list, so it is a speaker you carry to one spot, not one you clip to a backpack. It hovers near the $100 line, so check the button.

Pros
  • Loudest speaker on this list by a wide margin
  • Floats and is IPX7, so it can go in the lake
  • Doubles as a power bank for your phone
  • thousands of owner reviews, with an excellent owner rating
Cons
  • Heavier and bulkier than everything else here
  • Bass-heavy tuning; use the app EQ if you like it flat
  • Sits right at the top of the bracket

Soundcore Select 4 Go Bluetooth Shower Speaker by Anker, IP67
OutputMono, 5 WBattery20 hoursWaterproofIP67, floatsRange30 m BluetoothExtrasStrap included, stereo pairing

The Select 4 Go is the cheapest thing on this page and it is not embarrassing. It plays for 20 hours, floats, and comes with a strap so it hangs off a shower head or a handlebar. Sound is mono and modest, roughly a good clock radio, but for podcasts and background music that is enough. Its excellent owner rating from tens of thousands of owner reviews is higher than most speakers costing five times as much.

Pros
  • Very cheap, and tens of thousands of owner reviews give it an excellent owner rating
  • 20-hour battery in a speaker that fits your palm
  • IP67 and it floats, so it is safe in the tub
  • Strap included for a bike, a bag or a shower rail
Cons
  • Mono 5 W: fine for a shower, not for a party
  • No app or EQ
  • Plastic feels cheap next to the JBLs

One more budget pick

Ortizan X10 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, IPX7 Waterproof, 24W, 30-Hour Playtime, LED Lights
Battery30 hoursWater ratingIPX7Output24W stereo (2x 12W), dual passive radiatorsOwner ratinga strong owner rating, tens of thousands of owner reviewsExtrasLED light show, AUX in, TWS pairing

The Ortizan X10 is the cheap speaker that refuses to go away: tens of thousands of owner reviews, with a strong owner rating, a 30-hour battery that doubles the JBL Flip 5, 24W of stereo output with two passive radiators, and an IPX7 rating. The colored LED ring is the obvious difference and can be turned off. Build quality is a step below JBL and Anker, and there is no dust rating, but for a kitchen, dorm or kids’ room it is hard to beat for the money, and it stereo-pairs with a second unit.

Pros
  • 30-hour battery, the longest in this guide
  • 24W stereo with real bass for the price
  • tens of thousands of owner reviews, with a strong owner rating
  • Pairs two for stereo and has an AUX input
Cons
  • The LED lights are fun or tacky depending on the room
  • No dust rating, IPX7 only
  • Plastic build feels a step below JBL and Anker

IPX7 vs IP67: what the numbers mean

The second digit is water: 7 means the speaker can sit in a meter of water for 30 minutes. The first digit is dust: X means untested, 6 means sealed against sand. For a pool or a shower, IPX7 is enough. For the beach, the two IP67 picks (Go 4 and Select 4 Go) are the safer choice. Rinse any of them with fresh water after salt water.

How loud do you need?

A 5 to 12 W speaker (Select 4 Go, Soundcore 2, Go 4) covers a room or a small patio. The Flip 5 covers a backyard for a few people. Only the Boom 2 is a real party speaker. Pairing two of the same model is usually cheaper than stepping up, and every pick here supports it. For music at a desk, wireless headphones may serve you better than any speaker.

Best Bluetooth speaker under $100 by where you will use it

  • Shower and bathroom: Soundcore Select 4 Go (IP67, floats, strap).
  • Beach, pool and kayak: JBL Flip 5 or JBL Go 4 (IP67 on the Go 4, IPX7 on the Flip 5, both survive a dunk).
  • Backyard and parties: Soundcore Boom 2, the loudest here with real bass and a BassUp button.
  • Desk, kitchen and dorm: Anker Soundcore 2 for clean sound, or the Ortizan X10 for battery life and lights.
  • Bike and backpack: JBL Go 4, 7 ounces with a loop for a carabiner.

Once the budget passes $100, the step up is the Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) for sound quality; at home, a pair of bookshelf speakers or a soundbar will outperform any portable at the same price, and a surround sound system is the next level. For personal listening on the same budget, see wireless earbuds under $50.

Stereo pairing and party modes

Every pick here pairs with a second unit of the same model for true left-right stereo (JBL calls it PartyBoost or Auracast, Anker calls it PartyCast, Ortizan TWS). Two JBL Go 4 or two Soundcore 2 speakers stereo-paired cost less than one $150 speaker and sound wider. The catch: pairing only works within a brand’s ecosystem, and older JBL Connect+ speakers (Flip 5) do not pair with the newer Auracast models (Go 4), so buy two of the same model if stereo is the plan.

Do these work with an iPhone and an Android phone?

Yes. All five use standard Bluetooth and pair from the phone settings menu. The Anker and JBL apps are optional and available on both platforms for EQ and firmware updates.

Can I use one as a speakerphone?

The Anker Soundcore 2 has a built-in mic for calls; the JBL Flip 5 and Go 4 do not. Check the listing bullets for "hands-free" or "speakerphone" before buying if that matters.

What if the battery dies in a year?

JBL covers its speakers with a one-year US warranty and Anker Soundcore with 18 months. Keep the Amazon order email; the makers ask for it as proof of purchase.

Can I return a speaker if it does not sound the way I hoped?

Items sold by Amazon.com or Amazon-fulfilled sellers can normally be returned within 30 days if they are in the original condition. Third-party sellers set their own policies, so check the "Sold by" line on the product page.

Is the JBL Flip 5 still worth buying over the Flip 6?

Yes if the price gap is more than about $30. The Flip 6 adds a tweeter, IP67 dust rating and USB-C charging; the Flip 5 has the same 12-hour battery and the same punchy bass, and owner ratings are nearly identical, with an excellent owner rating.

How long do the batteries really last?

Rated numbers assume about 50% volume. Expect the Soundcore 2 and Flip 5 to run 8-10 hours at outdoor volume, the Go 4 about 5, the Boom 2 around 12 and the Ortizan X10 about 20 hours. Battery life also shrinks a little each year of use.

Can I pair two different speakers together?

Only within one brand and one generation: two Anker Soundcore speakers with PartyCast, two JBL speakers that both support Auracast or both support PartyBoost. Mixing brands, or a Flip 5 with a Go 4, does not work.
